Beyonce To Premiere 'Run The World (Girls)' On 'American Idol'

MTV News confirms the video will premiere on the show on Wednesday.

After delaying the premiere of her "Run the World (Girls)" video, MTV News has confirmed that Beyoncé will finally drop the video on Wednesday during "American Idol."

A label rep confirms that the video will hit the Web and other networks shortly after the West Coast broadcast of the show. "Run the World (Girls)" was originally slated to debut online last Friday, but a rep for Vevo.com confirmed to MTV News at the time that Beyoncé and her team were still putting the finishing touches on the Francis Lawrence-directed video.

A teaser for the video gave fans a taste of what they could expect from the full-length clip. In it, Beyoncé, dressed in high-fashion couture, and her super-cool-looking supermodel pals fend off an opposing army in a post-apocalyptic world.

"It'll be big, it'll probably be one of the bigger Beyoncé music videos ever done," Lawrence told MTV News recently. "And I can say that I think the song is unbelievable." He added, "I think the video's gonna be really fun and cool and different for her."

The song is the lead single off Beyoncé's forthcoming album 4. "It's definitely riskier than something a bit more ... simple," the singer told Billboard.com. "I just heard the track and loved that it was so different. It felt a bit African, a bit electronic and futuristic. It reminded me of what I love, which is mixing different cultures and eras — things that typically don't go together — to create a new sound.

"I can never be safe; I always try and go against the grain. As soon as I accomplish one thing, I just set a higher goal," she continued. "That's how I've gotten to where I am."

This week was the penultimate "Glee" of the season, and we should have been all wrapped up in watching the New Directions prepare for their trip to Nationals in New York. But an out-of-left-field plot about the death of Sue's sister made us forget about everything else. What's up with that, Ryan Murphy?

Jonathan Groff needs to be on "Glee" all the time.
His Jesse St. James character is divine,
Makes "Glee" jump through hoops daily,
Trashes amazing singers like he's Randy on Haley,
But today his antics have little buzz,
And that's simply because ...

Ryan Murphy killed Sue's special-needs sister
In the midst of "Glee" 's song and dance.
She's the only thing that kept Sue from being sinister.
Now Sue don't stand a chance.
Finn's breakup with Quinn was intense,
Some damn fine acting, but, Cory, no offense.

This desperate plot point has me in a trance.

No way Emma could fit in clothes Will gave away.
No way an outfit like that would appear on a kid who is gay.
