Big announcements from hip-hop icon Jay-Z in New York today as he revealed during a press conference to reveal that the New Jersey Nets will officially become known as the "Brooklyn Nets." Deets inside....
At a press conference held in NY earlier today, Jay-Z revealed,
“We named the New Jersey Nets the Brooklyn Nets."
That was pretty muh expected. Shawn Carter, who is a part-owner of the franchise, toured the site for the first time earlier this morning, and added that he would help put the arena on the map with a series of concerts next September. Headlined by himself of course.
